Work in the AI era.
Where could you fit?

Even when job titles stay the same, the tasks done by AI and people are changing. ILO research examines generative AI exposure task by task. Its findings suggest many jobs are more likely to change than disappear.Source: ILO (2025) ↗

Practical judgment and the ability to build trust also matter when considering work. We examine both demand prospects and actual duties, drawing candidates from IT, healthcare, construction, agriculture and other fields.

Examples of jobs you may see

  • Security Operations Specialist
  • Industrial Robot Maintenance Technician
  • Registered Nurse
  • Electrician
  • Agricultural Technical Specialist
  • Fisheries Technical Specialist

We identify qualification requirements. Possible future occupations are presented as hypotheses, separately from established jobs. Career and qualification guidance is based on Japan.

MONTHLY RESEARCH

As the future changes, so does the assessment.

Each month, we review career prospects and future forecasts. We also research emerging roles and apply evidence-checked updates to the assessment and the RPG setting.

We include ambitious forecasts from researchers and AI companies, while distinguishing observed facts, forecasts, research goals and fictional future scenarios.

Behind the assessment.
Explore the sources.

Our own scoring rules organize RPG choices into seven tendencies. Each trait is scaled so that its highest available total is 100. The assessment has not been validated as a psychological test.

Career suggestions draw on sources such as O*NET occupational data. We distinguish employment forecasts, employer surveys and research goals. Your final answers about experience, Japanese qualifications and work settings adjust job suggestions, not talent scores.

Forecasts do not guarantee demand or personal career suitability. The characters, incidents and time travel are fictional.

  • MLIT / Comprehensive Logistics Policy Framework (FY2026–2030) ↗Policy for deploying delivery drones and driverless trucks

References policy goals for small-package drone delivery and driverless trucks. Their work at the 2030 port and the incidents there are fictional game settings.

  • Amazon / MK30 Delivery Drone and Goals for 2030 ↗Current operations and company expansion targets

The service carries eligible products weighing about 2.3 kg or less. Delivering 500 million packages a year by 2030 is a target, not an achieved result. Using drones for small semiconductor shipments is our scenario.

  • NVIDIA / Annual Report 2026 ↗Current semiconductor business and supply chains

References AI-chip design, sales and outsourced manufacturing. Neovidia and the shipping-hub incident are fictional. A component shortage disrupts production and repairs; it does not instantly stop machines already running.

  • WEF / Future of Jobs Report 2025 ↗Employer expectations through 2030

Changes in the mix of jobs due to technology and other factors, not predictions of game incidents or individual career suitability.

  • State of AI Report 2026 ↗Ambitious forecast

Reviewed in October 2026. References ambitious forecasts of AGI in 2027 and AI teams directing AI research and development. Work in the 2030 setting is our extrapolation, not an observed achievement.

  • International AI Safety Report 2026 ↗Observations of capabilities and limits in 2026

Progress and reliability limits of AI agents, not evidence for villains or time travel.

  • JST / Moonshot Goal 1: Society in 2050 ↗Research goals to be pursued

References goals for 2050 such as one person operating over ten avatar robots, remote disaster rescue and activity beyond physical limitations. These are research goals, not established capabilities or certain forecasts.

  • JST / Moonshot Goal 3 ↗Research goals through 2050

References goals and research plans updated on September 24, 2026. They aim for robots with human-level task capabilities in areas such as construction and care by 2050. The 2100 city, where machines do much of the work, is our fictional extension of those goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It is free to play. No account is needed.

How long does it take?

Allow about 10 minutes. Make 12 choices in the RPG, then answer three questions about experience, Japanese qualifications and preferred work settings to see your results.

Are careers and future scenarios updated?

We review career prospects, emerging roles and the RPG setting each month. We consider ambitious forecasts from researchers and AI companies as well as public institutions. Changes are checked against their evidence before being applied and recorded in the update history.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. Play in a desktop or mobile browser. Tap on mobile, or use clicks and the keyboard on desktop to advance dialogue and make choices.

Can I resume later?

An unfinished adventure is not saved. Once completed, your result is saved in this browser and can be reopened from Previous result in the header. During play, you can review dialogue and change choices.

Are my name and work history saved?

Your name, work history, qualifications and individual answers are not saved or sent to our server. Only scores, title, job suggestions and explanations are saved in this browser. You can delete them from the results screen. The seven scores and title also contribute to anonymous totals.

Does a higher score mean I am better at a job?

Scores describe patterns in your game choices using our own rules. They do not measure physical strength, intelligence or other real abilities, and do not show that you are more capable than someone else.

Should I choose a career based only on these results?

Use the results as a starting point for thinking about your interests and preferred approaches. Career prospects and personal suitability are different. Check duties, required qualifications and working conditions too.
